Aisha Asghar is a multidisciplinary artist based across Glasgow and Edinburgh. Aisha Asghar's ongoing practice explores various themes and topics, acting as a form of fluid expression and taking influence from her worldly observations and reflections. Her work has been exhibited in various locations around the UK including Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Suffolk.
'I would define my artistic practice as an extension of myself. I have varied and wide ranging interests and care deeply about the complex and multifaceted nature of people and the relation this has to worldly observations. My work is influenced by the expressionist and surrealist movements and often delves into exploring identity, memory, and experience and how these relate to one another within the wider context of reality. My practice consists heavily of mixed media approaches and often addresses these themes through reimagined and fictional spaces. I am passionate about using art as a means to prompt discussion and lead to positive change.'

'Untethered explores the fragile balance of fear and beauty in relation to vast expanses of the unknown, tethering the line between being fully encompassed and being fully isolated by the vast. This work was formed by slowly building up translucent layers, creating an ethereal and otherworldly depth to immerse the viewer.'
