Yuhong’s work spans media including painting, moving image and installation. Yuhong’s practice openly embraces experiences of the unknown; what it is to construct and make sense of positions in shifting cultural and technological matrixes. She likes to work with structures around and thinking about how to maintain that motion without fixing it. Recent group exhibitions include [upcoming] Conditions Exhibition 2022-23, Whitgift centre (2023); Poems for A Gap In the Door, Future Focus, Quad gallery, Derby (2022); Finding Home digital display, Tate Britain (2021); Redirecting, Tree Museum, Beijing, China (2021); Beleaf festival, Oxford (2019); Omission, Safehouse 2, London (2016)
"I like to look at the structures that are around me, think about how I institute, how I carry those structures in myself or partying those systems and structures into them. In a way is movement, working with structures and thinking about how to maintain that motion without fixing it. I like to think about what it is to create personal and safe spaces. What it is to construct and make sense of positions in shifting cultural and technological matrixes."
